I purchased a lifetime DayZ server from ZAP-Hosting, and the service malfunctioned from the start. It was unstable, repeatedly failed to start properly, and did not function as advertised. Within the legal 14-day cancellation period, I requested a refund.Support claimed that I had “waived” my right of withdrawal, but could not provide any proof of explicit consent. The checkbox they referenced was pre-checked by ZAP, not user-controlled, and could not be unchecked, which is not compliant with EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights.Instead of resolving the issue or providing evidence, ZAP:- refused the refund without explanation,- provided no documentation of any valid waiver,- locked my account and suspended services,- sent automated “unpaid invoice / collections” warnings after the transaction went into dispute review. This felt more like retaliation than customer support. After escalating through PayPal, ZAP still provided no proof of explicit consent or working service. Their handling of the situation has been extremely disappointing, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend using ZAP-Hosting.
